Installed in the 40,000 sq ft factory is a range of decoiling equipment giving Dobel an ever increasing throughput of steel sheet, blanks and slit coils, produced to tolerances demanded by the industry.
1993 saw the commissioning of a state-of-the-art Durmech cut-to-length line specially designed for processing Aluzinc and pre-painted steel. This cut-to-length line can handle sheet from 0.35mm to 2.00mm thick and up to 12 metres in length by 1.5 metres wide, this complemented the existing AKV cut-to-length line which can process 0.35mm – 1.5mm in lengths up to 12 metres by 1.25m wide.
Dobel offer a range of shallow profiles which when applied to aluzinc and pre-painted steel, give a cosmetic definition, whilst at the same time structurally “stiffening” the sheet. To complement cut length and profiling to customer specification the Dobel factory also offers a fully integrated slitting service. Slitting to width can be accommodated from up to 1250mm wide master coil down to 10mm slit width, in thickness 0.40mm – 0.90mm, in both aluzinc and pre-painted materials.
Incorporated into the slitting line is an embossing facility. Although “stucco” embossed Aluzinc is the main output, the equipment is also able to produce a full mini-sinusoidal corrugated (Crimprol) and decorative floorplate. All these options make the sheet both aesthetically attractive and much more rigid so widening the opportunities for metal product designers to add the corrosion-free benefits of aluzinc and pre-painted steel to their products.

Coil users
We operate a service which enables high quality steel coil to be delivered straight from the Swedish mill to your factory.
How does it work?
Subject to market conditions, 8 weeks prior to delivery you nominate quantities and substrate sizes. Then 5 weeks prior to delivery you nominate coatings and colours.
How is the steel transported from Sweden?
By conventional shippings to the ports of either Goole or Montrose. Then usually next day delivery by lorry to your premises.
Who arranges the shipping and transport?
We do - handling all the paperwork. No need for you to get involved except when the coil arrives at the docks - we contact you to arrange delivery to your company. Impending deliveries are notified by full packing lists.
What if I have a query about delivery, specifications, changes etc?
We have a special unit in our sales office dedicated to coil customers, they will do their best to answer any question and take on the onus to make sure that substrate, coatings and colours are nominated on time.
What happens if I don't have enough of an item in my stock or on order from Sweden?
We keep a comprehensive stock of Plastisol, Polyester, PVF2, lining enamel and aluzinc in standard sizes at our Birmingham factory. Usually we can make up your shortfall.
Who will invoice me?
SSAB Swedish Steel Ltd invoices all customers.
After sales service?
30 years on site management experience in Dobel, high-grade Swedish laboratories and technicians, and quickly arranged visits by Swedish personnel, if needed, provide a total package.

We have a vast experience of dealing with the UK and Ireland's profiling companies, composite panel manufacturers, garage door and garden shed manufacturers and other industrial coil users of painted steel and aluzinc.
