The Swedish Pavilion at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai is a remarkable structure. It is not only welcoming, versatile and beautiful, it is also an environmentally friendly building. This is mainly thanks to SSAB’s energy saving steel Prelaq Energy that will enclose the buildings and dissipate heat from solar radiation.
Because of SSAB’s Prelaq Energy the Swedish pavilion’s energy consumption will be lowered by up to 15 percent. This means the steel is dramatically reducing the need for energy consuming cooling during the hot summer days of Shanghai.
The 2010 World Expo is a unique possibility to showcase new, innovative and sustainable solutions. China is a very important market for SSAB, so there was never any doubt about whether SSAB would act as an Official Partner of the Swedish Pavilion. The people at SSAB are committed to creating a stronger, lighter and more sustainable world.
