Swedish Pavilion at World Expo is covered by energy saving steel from SSAB 23/06/2010 10:11:07
The Swedish Pavilion at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai is a remarkable structure. It is not only welcoming, versatile and beautiful, it is also an environmentally friendly building. This is mainly thanks to SSAB’s energy saving steel Prelaq Energy that will enclose the buildings and dissipate heat from solar radiation. Because of SSAB’s Prelaq Energy the Swedish pavilion’s energy consumption will be lowered by up to 15 percent. This means the steel is dramatically reducing the need for energy consuming cooling during the hot summer days of Shanghai. The 2010 World Expo is a unique possibility to showcase new, innovative and sustainable solutions. China is a very important market for SSAB, so there was never any doubt about whether SSAB would act as an Official Partner of the Swedish Pavilion. The people at SSAB are committed to creating a stronger, lighter and more sustainable world.
Prelaq Energy In Use 23/06/2010 09:48:12
If the right sheet steel is used for the roof and walls of an ice skating rink, the operating costs can be substantially reduced. Prelaq Energy prepainted sheet steel can cut the energy consumption by 8-10 percent. For a skating rink of normal size, this would yield an annual saving of SEK 100,000 (£8,600). There are more than 300 skating rinks around Sweden. It is increasingly common for ice to be available in the rinks all the year round. This offers great opportunities for training and development to those who practise ice hockey and other sports on ice. But a disadvantage is that the municipalities, clubs and other organisations that operate the rinks face increasing energy consumption and thus also higher costs.
